This qualitative study explores how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted individuals living with spinal cord injuries (SCI) in Nepal. The study found that the pandemic negatively affected the physical, mental, social, and economic aspects of their lives. The researchers suggest telehealth, psychosocial support, and essential medical supplies are needed to improve the well-being of individuals with SCI during this pandemic.
Telehealth with proper education for individuals with SCI and their caregivers could minimize physical and psychological problems.
Stakeholders can bring awareness to the public by developing and implementing anti-stigma interventions.
Provision of relief packages, including essential medications and basic SCI-related supplies, during the crisis could relieve some financial burdens.
