The study adapts a test called the Trunk Control Test (TCT) for use in Argentina. This test measures how well people with spinal cord injuries can control their trunk or torso. The researchers translated the test into Argentinian Spanish and checked if it was reliable, meaning if it gives similar results when used by different therapists or at different times. The results showed that while the test could be adapted, it wasn't very reliable in its current form, suggesting that more work is needed to improve it.
The adapted TCT can be used with caution in clinical settings, recognizing its current limitations in reliability.
Future research should focus on improving the reliability and validity of the adapted TCT through further refinement and testing.
Standardizing measurement methods, increasing training hours, and conducting simultaneous measurements by independent evaluators are recommended to enhance reliability.
