Neuropathic pain is a complex chronic pain condition resulting from nervous system damage or disease, often involving neuroinflammation along pain pathways. Pyroptosis, a novel type of regulated cell death, has been observed in damaged neurocytes associated with neuropathic pain, suggesting its significant contribution to the pathology. This study uses microarray and RNA sequencing to understand gene expression patterns in a rat model of neuropathic pain, identifying potential therapeutic targets.
The C/EBPβ-Clec7a axis could be a promising therapeutic target for the treatment of neuropathic pain.
Targeting this axis may alleviate neuropathic pain through reducing neuroinflammation.
This research paves the way for clinical translation of new therapies for neuropathic pain.
