This study investigates the effectiveness of combining partial knee replacement (UKA) with ACL reconstruction (ACLR) for patients with both knee osteoarthritis and ACL deficiency. The study followed 23 patients who underwent both procedures to see how well they functioned long-term, focusing on pain relief, stability, and return to sports. The results showed that this combined approach can provide good long-term outcomes, with patients experiencing pain relief and being able to return to sports activities.
This approach should be included in the treatment portfolio for patients with ACL injury and isolated medial knee OA.
Patients’ long-term expectations can be raised with this combined procedure.
Proper surgical indication and execution remain crucial for the success of the procedure.
